Food: Friend or Foe?
Most people think that Food Allergies have a sudden, throat-closing effect. Actually, 80-90% of allergic reactions in the body are not immediate. In fact, almost 33% of the industrialized world suffers from Allergies.

Ignorance is not bliss! Yet knowing your food allergies and avoiding your food allergies can be two different things. The key is to focus on what you CAN eat, a more optimistic viewpoint. You can use this list and cross out items you are allergic to. Aim to be systematic in your approach, to avoid feeling overwhelmed & discouraged. Take it one step at a time. You should plan to spend a few hours on your first allergy-free grocery run.
Navigating Food Labels
Now more than ever, the food industry has many allergy-friendly options available. It is important to read labels to make sure you are avoiding your specific allergens and dangerous food additives. The less ingredients in a label the better.
Gluten-Free Gluttony
Remember, going gluten-free doesn’t necessarily mean health & weight loss. In fact, new research reveals that High Carb, Low Fat Diets are Linked to Early Death. Your body cannot tell whether its glucose (sugar) comes from fruit, bread, rice or pasta, gluten or none.
Carbs Make You Fat
Nutrients aside, a carb is a carb, and breaks down into glucose for energy. This is why a gluten-free diet can make you fat. It’s the cause & effect of consuming too many carbohydrates in any form. Research shows a dangerous connection between Cancer, Belly Fat & Weight Gain.

Coffee & Caffeine
If you are going to purchase Coffee at the supermarket, opt for Organic as non-organic Coffee is one of the most chemically sprayed crops. Pull the Plug on Plastic
It is imperative when you’re shopping to avoid sources of plastic. Bisphenol A (BPA) is found in plastic packaging, aluminum beverage & canned goods, alcohol & soda containers, baby bottles. Phthalates, another plastic chemical, are even worse than BPA as they off-gas easily increasing air & skin exposure.
Shopping for Glass
PET are Phthalates in disguise. Unfortunately, PET is still commonly found in clear plastic bottles for soda, sports drinks, condiments, cosmetic & fragranced products. You need to be conscientious to avoid toxicity in our plastic-ridden world.
