FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy

Read on for Frequently Asked Questions FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy to answer all your questions about this fat busting, body sculpting natural treatment for cellulite and stubborn fat.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: What is Lipodissolve Mesotherapy?

Lipodissolve Mesotherapy is a non-surgical alternative to liposuction, and even better! It is substantially less expensive, and less invasive. No general anesthetic allows a shorter recovery period. It is less traumatic with little bruising and pain, no scars or stitches, rarely with adverse reactions, and does not require girdles or special clothing post-treatment. The end result is a more contoured shape with smoother skin, and may eliminate cellulite, unlike liposuction. In fact, Lipodissolve Mesotherapy is used to improve cosmetic irregularities that can occur after liposuction, even improving the dimpling skin of cellulite.

Lipodissolve Mesotherapy is a highly effective, short office procedure allowing me to specifically target your localized fat deposits. A series of treatments are performed, involving multiple injections of the fat-dissolving substances, over the specified stubborn bulging areas, allowing slow dissolving of the fat deposits.  The body naturally eliminates the residue after a Lipodissolve Mesotherapy treatment over the following few weeks.  It is especially effective for the treatment of problem areas that may not be eliminated with diet and exercise alone.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: What is this Amazing Fat Dissolving Substance?

The main ingredient in Lipodissolve is phosphatidylcholine. Phosphatidylcholine is a natural substance found in our bodies. Its main role in the body is to help emulsify and breakdown fat and cholesterol, and it is a key constituent of our cell membranes and high density lipoproteins (the good cholesterol). The phosphatidylcholine that is used is derived from soybeans and has the same molecular structure as the phosphatidylcholine found naturally occurring in our bodies. Phosphatidylcholine is commonly used by many physicians worldwide in the treatment of fatty plaques in the arteries, by injecting the substance into the bloodstream.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: How does it work?

When injected directly into fat deposits, phosphatidylcholine helps breakdown and emulsify the fat deposits. Permanent reduction of fatty deposits occurs slowly over time, using the body’s own natural methods of excreting fat. Phosphatidylcholine has two magnet-like ends; one is attracted to water, and the other end is attracted to fat. These properties are why phosphatidylcholine is found in the digestive juices (bile) from the gallbladder, due to its ability to break down fats that we consume. Upon injection into the fat under the skin, phosphatidylcholine surrounds the fat cell, and because of these opposing properties is able to emulsify the fat cell & solubilize it in the circulation, whereby it is then removed permanently by the liver, bowels and kidneys. Functionally, you are then naturally & obliviously getting rid of it through your sweat, urine & stool.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: What is the difference between Lipodissolve & Mesotherapy?

Lipodissolve

Lipodissolve is an innovative application of Mesotherapy allowing specific targeting of localized fat deposits. A series of treatments are performed, involving multiple injections of the fat-dissolving substances, into the specified stubborn bulging areas of fat, allowing slow dissolving of the fat deposits. The body naturally eliminates the residue after a Lipodissolve treatment over the following few weeks. It is especially effective for the treatment of problem areas that may not be eliminated with diet and exercise alone. According to Duncan & Hasengschwandtner 2005, Lipodissolve injections reduce the size of localized fat deposits and cause skin retraction in body regions containing small deposits of localized fat, cellulite, or postlipoplasty deformities.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is the practice of using microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medication and/or vitamins into the “mesoderm,” or middle layer of skin, to deliver healing or corrective treatment to a specific area of the body. Dr. Michel Pistor pioneered & practiced the technique in France in 1952, and the pioneering torch was passed to Dr. Jacques LeCoz. Mesotherapy was given formal recognition in 1987 by the French Academy of Medicine and it is taught in French medical schools. France currently has more than 15,000 physicians practicing Mesotherapy. The procedure has spread throughout Europe and South America, and even North America. Mesotherapy has been used for cosmetic purposes, such as reducing cellulite and for facial rejuvenation. While each Mesotherapy treatment may involve hundreds of small injections, the treatment sessions typically takes only a short time to complete.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: Any Side Effects or Pain with Lipodissolve Mesotherapy?

Such fine needles are used in the procedure that any pain is minor and short lived. Commonly, patients experience temporary itching, soreness, swelling, and bruising of the treatment area that lasts around one week on average. You can go straight back to work immediately after treatment, but this will depend on the amount of soreness you have, the area you have treated, and the type of work you do. Going back to work the next day is the most common scenario. The swelling proves beneficial as this allows the skin to retract or tighten over the following few weeks thereafter, during the fat melting phase, unlike after liposuction. Dr. Jiwani will be providing you with appropriate supplementation to facilitate and promote healing of your tissues, for an optimal appearance in minimal time.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: Who is a Candidate for Lipodissolve Mesotherapy?

Lipodissolve Mesotherapy is for you if:

  • you are a man or woman
  • you are between age 18 – 75
  • you have stubborn, bulging areas of fat
  • these areas are resistant to dietary changes and/or exercise
  • you wish to melt the stubborn fat away into a sleeker physique
  • you have realistic expectations about your body and the potential changes

Dr. Jiwani will evaluate your overall health, medical history, evaluate the areas and discuss your treatment plan.  Her goal is to facilitate you to achieve a more sculpted body, which is more visible than the weight registered on the scale. It is important to realize that Mesotherapy & Lipodissolve is primarily for body contouring, rather than weight reduction.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: Who is NOT a Candidate for Lipodissolve Mesotherapy?

Although it is ultimately per Dr. Jiwani’s discretion, generally patients who are not suitable for Lipodissolve Mesotherapy treatments include patients that are:

  • Pregnant or Breast-feeding
  • Diagnosed with Severe Liver or Kidney problems
  • Suffering with Severe Active Autoimmune Diseases such as Lupus, or Immunodeficiency such as AIDS

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: What happens to the Skin over the Fat lost?

Unlike liposuction, the swelling after Lipodissolve Mesotherapy proves beneficial as this allows the skin to retract or tighten over the treated area.  In the following few weeks following treatment, as the fat dissolves, the body’s natural inflammatory reaction ensures there is no sagging or looseness of skin. Even the cellulite surrounding the treated area is improved in appearance, whereas liposuction can often worsen the appearance of cellulite by destroying the circulation to that area.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: Can Lipodissolve Mesotherapy Cause Uneven Fat Loss?

This has not been seen in proper procedures, which requires a finesse or experienced technique. Dr. Jiwani has studied under the pioneers of Lipodissolve and Mesotherapy, Dr. Patricia Rittes & Dr. Jacques LeCoz.  This has proved invaluable, as it has emphasized a distinct technique to administer the therapies, highlighting the art and science of Lipodissolve Mesotherapy Treatments. Dr. Jiwani constantly evaluates the treatment area, to provide you with the best possible outcome for your genetics.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: Are the Results Permanent from Lipodissolve Mesotherapy?

Lipodissolve Mesotherapy treatments have shown consistent results from Dr. Jiwani’s experienced technique.  When Dr. Jiwani performs this fat burning, body sculpting technique, it tends to distribute any new weight gain more evenly. In fact, the treated area tends not to increase in size as quickly had the treatment not been performed. A better balance in body shape is achieved, as usually only disproportionate areas are treated. Lipodissolve Mesotherapy will not prevent new fat from accumulating in the same areas, so it is advisable to incorporate a healthy exercise regime, and to follow the individualized dietary recommendations provided to you by Dr. Jiwani. This may facilitate maintenance and enhancement of that newly sculpted physique for long term results.

** Lipodissolve Mesotherapy injections are not a substitute for diet and exercise OR a sole fat loss solution for highly obese persons.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: When do you see Results from Lipodissolve Mesotherapy?

Generally, this depends on the individual. Results are usually expected by the fourth treatment, and continued improvement occurs with further treatments, if necessary.

  • The fat cells are permanently removed from the area treated.
  • Ongoing treatment is usually not required once you have achieved your goal, assuming no further weight is gained.
  • Since we are born with a limited number of fat cells that do not replicate beyond a certain age, the results may be permanent after the fat cells are dissolved.
  • There are long term studies that show the results from Lipodissolve Mesotherapy treatments have remained 7 years after the treatment was performed.
  • Treatments for cellulite and excess fat may require occasional maintenance visits.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: Is Lipodissolve Mesotherapy Safe?

Lipodissolve Mesotherapy:

  • is a safe and effective method of fat reduction
  • is not associated with the risks of general anesthesia or sedation, and the other complications of surgery, unlike liposuction
  • has been safely performed on thousands of patients, with no reports of adverse complications or long term effects.
  • is tested in one area only for the first treatment to rule out whether a patient may exhibit a rare adverse allergic reaction to the solution used.
  • contains a consistent mixture of fat-dissolving agents
  • has proven to be a safe and effective therapy, when it is under the supervision of a licensed naturopathic physician, who is certified and experienced in the specialized Lipodissolve Mesotherapy procedure, such as Dr. Jiwani.

Mesotherapy: Salvation from Cellulite & Aging Skin

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is the practice of using microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medication and/or vitamins into the “mesoderm,” or middle layer of skin, to deliver healing or corrective treatment to a specific area of the body. Dr. Michel Pistor pioneered & practiced the technique in France in 1952, and the pioneering torch was passed to Dr. Jacques LeCoz. FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: What does Mesotherapy treat?

Cosmetically, Mesotherapy is often used to treat Cellulite and also for Facial Rejuvenation.  From an anti-aging perspective, it is amazing to be able to rejuvenate skin tissue, through stimulating collagen synthesis, which keeps the skin young looking, due to its elasticity.  Through Mesotherapy, the skin can also be rehydrated, allowing for a certain glow, that plump, youthful skin emanates.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: What is Cellulite?

Cellulite or Dermatomyoliposclerosis (DMLS) is characterized by lumpy, dimpled skin, commonly on the upper thighs and buttocks.  Cellulite is the nightmare filled with shame and embarrassment for women worldwide, affecting confidence and well-being. More than 90 percent of post-pubescent women are affected by cellulite, due to estrogen levels, irrespective of weight or age.  Lipodissolve Mesotherapy is the most effective and long lasting treatment for cellulite available, whereas Liposuction can make cellulite worse.  Fortunately, Lipodissolve Mesotherapy has been a safe and successful cellulite treatment in many European and South American countries for years.

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: What causes Cellulite?

Cellulite is the result of weak connective tissue bands that hold down areas of the skin, trapping the fat, while other areas bulge outwards to create the undesirable “cottage-cheese” appearance. There are numerous causes of cellulite:

  • poor circulation
  • defective connective tissue
  • enlarged fat cells
  • poor diet and nutrition
  • food allergies

The process of developing Cellulite spans four stages, slowly progressing over a years:

  1. Initially fat cells clump together, reducing blood circulation, which feeds the tissue
  2. Defective connective tissue bands tighten under bulging fat cells, and structurally harden
  3. Cellular water is retained & lymphatic flow restricted
  4. Fat cells expand and stretch, causing dimpling

FAQ Lipodissolve Mesotherapy: How does Lipodissolve Mesotherapy treat Cellulite?

Mesotherapy injections generally are an individualized combination of various vitamins, minerals, enzymes, plant extracts, anesthetics, medications and amino acids. The ingredients in the solution depend on your individual treatment needs and the desired effect you want to achieve. The mesotherapy solutions specifically treat the causes of cellulite:

  1. Circulation of blood to the skin is increased
  2. Dysfunctional and broken connective tissue is cleared
  3. Enlarging fat cells are reduced by delivering specific medication to fat cell receptors that block the fat’s entry. The receptor that stimulates the fat’s exit from the cell is turned on.

Ultimately, with various mesotherapy solutions, cellulite can be improved by dissolving excess fat, improving blood flow to the area, removing fibrotic, hardened connective tissue, and improving lymphatic drainage. The result is much smoother (and smaller) legs, thighs and derriere, because of a reduction of the “orange peel” appearance and loss of fat in the treated areas. Any area of the body can be treated with this technique with dependable results. Because cellulite is a permanent condition it requires more treatments than fat reduction by itself, usually 10 to 15 treatments or more if the condition is severe.
